UFC101の試合後のインタビューでダナはボストンでイベントを行う事を検討していると答えた。
In a post-UFC 101 press conference, White confirmed plans to hold an event in Boston.

驚いた事に、その開催地として上げていたのがボストンレッドソックスの本拠地で歴史的なフェンウェイパークである。
The real surprise, though, came when he revealed a potential venue for the event: historic Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox.

「フェンウェイパークで大会を開催しようと思うんだ。」イベントについて尋ねられ答えた。
“We’re looking at doing it at Fenway,” White said when asked about the event.

先月、上院でマサチューセッツ州のMMAの規制に関する法案を承認する投票がされた。ホワイトとUFCはその法案が2009年後半にサインされることを望んでおり、そうすれば2010年にはボストンで大会を開催できるのだ。
Late last month, the State Senate voted to approve a bill that would bring mixed-martial-arts regulation to Massachusetts. White and Co. hope the bill will be signed into law by late 2009 so a Boston show can be held sometime in 2010.

木曜日のUFCのファンとのQ&AセッションでUFCが今後どこで開催されるのかに答えていた。
During a Q&A session with the UFC’s fan club this past Thursday, White left little doubt about the UFC’s plan to venture to the city.

「ボストンで開催するよ」ホワイトは答えた
「間違いなくボストンで開催するよ。我々はどこでも開催するつもりだけどね」
“We’re going to Boston,” White said. “We’re definitely going to Boston. … We’re going everywhere.”

ホワイトは以前ハワイやイギリスで屋外での開催を考えていたが、マサチューセッツのマンチェスターから40マイル離れたボストンで開催すると答えたのは公式では初めてである。
While White has openly contemplated outdoor stadium shows in Hawaii (at the Aloha Stadium) and possibly even England, the UFC 101 presser was the first time he publicly confirmed such plans for Boston, which is just 40 miles from his hometown of Manchester, Mass.

いつもの通り意訳ですがほぼほぼこんな感じです。
夏の間の屋外イベントは最高ですが選手にとっては体調管理も難しくなってくるでしょうね。

ボクシング関連の話題以外で彼はUFCがWECを吸収することを考えていることに言及しました。
Among other newsworthy items White discussed, he mentioned that the UFC is considering merging together with the WEC.

「我々はすぐに話し合おうと思っているよ」彼は答えました。
“We’re talking about that right now,” he said.

もし合併が実現したら日曜日にWECで闘うミゲールトーレスやマイクブラウン、ユライアフェィバーにもスポットライトがあたるようになります。
Such a move would put a larger spotlight on accomplished fighters including Mike Brown, Urijah Faber and Miguel Torres, who is headlining Sunday’s WEC card.

On utilizing the PRIDE assets they acquired in 2007:
“Things didn’t work out with PRIDE the way we had planned, so we put together a TV show called ‘The best of PRIDE’ which will air in January on Spike. So all the old great PRIDE fights that happened will all the stars who are UFC guys now, you’ll be able to see it.”

毎週UFCのライブイベントを行う可能性は？
「実際、すぐにやりたいぐらいだよ。２秒でその契約を結ぶ事は出来るよ。でも問題があって「火曜夜のファイトショー」みたいな事をするには選手が足りないんだよね、実際のところ。」
On potentially doing a weekly UFC live event:
“The reality is they would love that right now. I could make that deal with a network in two seconds. The problem is that there’s definitely not enough talent for a ‘Tuesday Night Fights’ type show.

とのこと。
UFCはどんどん肥大化していきますね。他の団体がアライアンスを組んでももう太刀打ち出来ない状態に陥っています。そしてPRIDE、ただのビデオライブラリーになってしまいましたね、遂に…。

ずっと見てると夢に出て来そうなアニメですね。

GSPは語りました。
「僕の空手は極真でリョートは松濤館空手でルールも少し違うんだ。でもそれはスタイルの違いだと思うし、リョートはなんていっても凄いファイターだからね。やっぱり僕は空手が好きだし、リョートは偉大なファイターだから彼と一緒にトレーニングしたいよ。」
“My Karate style is Kyokushin and Lyoto’s is Shootokan, the rules are a little different. But I think it isn’t the style that makes the fighter, is the fighter that makes itself, and Lyoto Machida is a great fighter. I would love [to train with him], because I love Karate and Lyoto is a great fighter.”

最近のビデオブログでダナがなぜMMAが世界でもっとも人気のあるスポーツになりうるのかを語った。それは人間の持っている生来の本能によるものだと説明した。
In the latest installment of the UFC 100 video blog, UFC President Dana White makes his oft-repeated claim that MMA will soon be the world’s most popular sport. When a reporter tells White he doesn’t buy it, White explains that it’s a simple matter of human genetics.

「世界中の有名な都市の４つ角にいるとしよう」ホワイトは言った。「ひとつの角ではサッカーをやっているグループがある。もう一つの角ではバスケットをやっているグループがある。又別の角ではホッケーをやっているグループがある。そしてもうひとつでは喧嘩が始まろうとしている。みんなどこの角に行くと思う？」
“You take four corners anywhere, any major city, anywhere in the world,” White says. “On one corner they’re playing soccer. On the second corner they’re playing basketball. On the third corner they’re playing street hockey. On the fourth corner a fight breaks out. Where does the crowd go?”

ホワイトは自分でその答えを言った「彼らは喧嘩を見に行くよ。他のスポーツをやっていた奴らでさえやってたことをやめて喧嘩を見に行くよ、しかも大急ぎで走ってね！それが人間の本能ってもんさ。それがDNAに焼き付いている本能だよ。好もうが好まざるが、戦いって言うのはもっとも古いスポーツだよ。人間がこの世に生を受けてすぐやる事はパンチをすることだよ、誰でもね。」
And then White answers his own question: “They go to watch the fight. The guys that are even playing the other sports will stop playing those sports and run over and watch the fight. It’s human nature. It’s in our DNA. Whether we like it or not, fighting was the first sport ever created. As soon as man was put on this earth, a punch was thrown. It’s who we are.”

んん本当にも聞こえますがどうでしょう？でも街で喧嘩があったら見に行きますね。やっぱり本能がうずくと言うか。
とにもかくにも今やUFC我が世の春ですね。この勢いで本当に世界No.１のスポーツになってしまうかも。それに比べて日本の総合格闘技は…。
もう少し違った事をやらないとだめですよね。例えば無料で動画を配信するとかして裾野を広げていかないと。
駄目だ駄目だと言いながら昔のビジネスモデルままって言うところが今の低迷の理由なんでしょう、きっと。

That’s the kind of match that makes a legendary kind of a fight and that’s what Anderson wants.”

アンデウソンはアフィリクションと契約中のヒョードルとの闘いに興味があるとホワイトは言った。
ホワイトはヒョードルと契約をするためいろいろな試みをしたが結局は出来なかった。
White said that Silva also expressed an interest in fighting heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, who is under contract with Affliction. White has made several attempts to sign Emelianenko, none of which were successful.

なんとアンデウソンはヒョードルと闘いたいようです！！

“We’d come in at about 220 if we ever got that fight,” Soares said. “Anderson thinks that would be a great fight for him. He didn’t see he expected to blow him out, but he thinks he can give him a very good fight.”
