「去年ダンヘンダーソンの負けたよ。間違いを犯したからね。後から考えると、そんなこと今まで無かった事だよ。その出来事があったから自分が犯した間違いを知るために猛練習をしたんだよ。でもダンヘンダーソン戦以上に、酷かったのはヴァンダレイシウバ戦だよ、ミドル級の試合でどうして負けたのか分からないよ。ダンヘンダーソンの打ちのめされたのは納得しているよ。でもヴァンダレイシウバ戦は勝ってたと思うんだ。ミドル級でダンヘンダーソン以外に打ちのめされた事はないよ。だからヴァンダレイシウバ戦での敗戦にリベンジしたいんだ。あの試合ではオレは彼を打ち負かしていたと思うよ。だからもう一度彼と闘いたい。知っての通り、ヴァンダレイはリマッチを希望していたよね。もし彼がリマッチをしたいと言うのなら、それはオレが彼を打ち負かしたと言う考えが心の奥底にあるからなんだ。あの試合で傷一つなかったけど、彼の顔はズタズタだったからね。」

It made me go away and work hard on (finding) mistakes I was making. But other than the Dan Henderson fight, other than the bullshit decision to Wanderlei Silva, I don’t think I’ve lost any of the fights at middleweight. I got beat by Dan Henderson, and that’s it. You know, I feel I won the fight against Wanderlei, and other than Dan Henderson, I’ve never been beat at middleweight … I’d love to avenge the loss to Wanderlei. I feel I beat him on that night, and I’d love to fight him again … You know, I mean, Wanderlei asked for the rematch. I think if he wants a rematch, that’s because he knows deep down inside his soul that I beat him. I didn’t have a mark on me that night, and his face was quite totally messed up.”

UFCに近い筋によると新しい対戦相手と闘う事を拒否していた秋山はUFC116でクリスリーベンと対戦する事に同意しました。

7月3日UFC116で秋山成勲と闘う予定だったヴァンダレイシウバは練習中の肋骨の怪我のため試合を欠場する事になりました。UFCのダナホワイトは火曜日の午後その事を認めました。
Wanderlei Silva, who was scheduled to meet Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 116 on July 3, has been forced to withdraw from the card due to fractured ribs suffered in training, UFC president Dana White confirmed with MMA Fighting Tuesday afternoon.

ちなみに秋山成勲はそのまま出場、対戦相手を探しているとの事。

追記:ヴァンダレイシウバに変わってクリスレーベンが秋山と対戦するとmmaweeklyでは報じています。

「彼がまだ闘っていたなんて知らなかったよ」レスナーは言いました。
“I didn’t even know he was fighting,” he said.

冗談なのか本気なのか、彼はヒョードルのUFCに興味が無いと言う発言に対してそう語り、ヒョードルがもうこのスポーツを引退したと思っていたと言いました。そして偉大なチャンピオンのままMMAから去るべきだと語りました。
Joking or not, Lesnar pulled no punches when talking about Fedor’s proclamation that he was thinking about retirement from the sport, and walking away as the greatest heavyweight to ever put on the gloves.

「彼はもう引退した方が良いと思うよ」レスナーは言いました。
「彼は偉大なチャンピオンだよ。彼はこれからの偉大なチャンピオンのままだよ。彼だけの小さな世界だけの話だけどね。彼にとってはそれでいいと思うけどね。」
“Good for Fedor, I hope he does retire.” Lesnar commented. “He’s the greatest champion of all time. He’s the greatest champion ever, of all time, in his own little world. Good for him.”

MMAファンにとって決して見る事の出来ない戦いについて、レスナーはヒョードルと闘う事に何にも問題ないと語り、さらにもし闘うとしたら勝つと語りました。
For a fight that MMA fans may never get to see, Lesnar had no problem stating that he’d have no issues facing Emelianenko, or defeating him if they ever did meet in the cage.

「間違いなく勝つよ。」レスナーはヒョードルを叩きのめす事が出来るかと聞かれ答えました。
「誰であろうと叩きのめすよ。」
“Absolutely,” Lesnar answered when asked if he could beat Fedor. “I can beat anybody.”

「アンデウソンシウバの次の試合は本当にタフな試合になるよ。相手はチェールソネンだよ。ソネンは緩い試合をしない選手だよ。他の選手みたいな事はしない選手だ。」ホワイトは言いました。
“He’s got a real tough fight coming up. His next fight’s going to be against Chael Sonnen, and Chael Sonnen’s one of these guys who’s not going to lay back, not do what these other guys (did),” White told Rome.

「本当に良い柔術選手が相手だとあんな試合になってしまうんだ。柔術選手はグラウンドで勝負をしたがるからね。ソネンもグラウンドで試合をしたがるけど、彼はテイクダウンを取りに行って倒そうとするからね」ダナは言いました。
“When he’s been in this position when these types of fights have happened, it’s been against real good jiu-jitsu guys, guys that want to get the fight to the ground. Well, Chael Sonnen’s going to want to take this fight to the ground, but he’s going to double leg him and bring him down,” said White.

「個人的には、アンデウソンシウバはあんな試合をして恥じていると信じたいよ。おそらく彼はメンタル的に切れてしまったんだろう。何がおこったのかよくわからないよ。ただ言える事は次の相手はあんな緩い試合をさせてくれないしあんなバカな振る舞いもさせてくれない相手だということだよ。」
“Personally, I really believe that he was embarrassed by what happened that night, maybe he did have a mental breakdown, I don’t know what happened in the ring. All I can say is I know his next opponent isn’t going to be a guy who’s going to lay back and let him do stuff like that.”

「もしアンデウソンシウバが次の試合であんなことをしたら、彼は解雇だね。」ダナは言いました。

“For me I’m fighting the most dangerous guy I ever fought in my career,” he said. “It’s a chance for me to redeem myself where I failed last time in the same situation. I’ve never been so pumped for a fight. The loss I had against Serra, it’s not really a loss against Serra because I fought him again and beat him. It was a loss against the situation. I’m in the same situation now, and I look at it like a redemption. It’s a great chance to redeem myself, because I’m in a little bit of the same situation as I was when I fought Serra for the first time.”
