ゲガールムサシとジェイクオブライエンのDREAM15で行われるライトヘビー級グランプリの対戦が口頭レベルですが同意しました。
Gegard Mousasi (28-3-1 MMA, 6-0 DREAM) and Jake O’Brien (13-3 MMA, 0-0 DREAM) have verbally agreed to meet at DREAM.15 in the promotion’s scaled-down light-heavyweight grand prix.

MMAjunkie.comは月曜日の朝、DREAMに近い筋からその試合が決まったと確認しました。彼は契約にはまだサインしてないが近々決定になると言いました。
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) confirmed the fight Monday morning from sources close to the event, who said that while contracts have not been signed, the bout is expected to be finalized shortly.

レスリングで3度の高校州王者となり、パデュー大学でもレスリングを2年経験。18歳からはブラジリアン柔術も学んだ。

IFC、WECなどの総合格闘技イベントで7戦無敗の戦績を残し、2006年8 月17日のUFC Fight Night 6でUFC初参戦。クリストフ・ミドゥをTKOで破る。

2007 年1月25日、UFC Fight Night 8でヒース・ヒーリングと対戦し、3-0の判定勝ち。

2008 年3月1日、UFC 82でアンドレイ・アルロフスキーと対戦し、パウンドによるTKO負け。総合格闘技初敗北となった。7月19日、UFC: Silva vs. Irvinでケイン・ヴェラスケスと対戦し、パウンドによるTKO負け。

2009 年1月31日、UFC 94で1階級下のライトヘビー級に変更しクリスチャン・ウェリッシュに判定勝ち。 7月11日にはUFC 100でジョン・ジョーンズに一本負けを喫した。

■mmaweeklyによるとファブリシオ・ヴェウドゥムに負けたヒョードル陣営は秋に再戦を希望しているとのこと。しかしM-1サイドの希望と言う事だけでSTRIKEFORCEが受けるかどうかはまだ未定。

4歳からレスリングを始め、アリゾナ州立大学進学後はNCAAのレスリング全米選手権で2度優勝。

2008 年11月5日、WECデビュー戦となるWEC 36でデイヴィッド・アヴェランと対戦し、18秒でKO勝ち。その後、WECミドル級のUFC移管に伴い、UFCへと移籍した。

2009 年4月1日、UFCデビュー戦となるUFC Fight Night: Condit vs. Kampmannでティム・マッケンジーにパウンドによるTKO勝ち。ノックアウト・オブ・ザ・ナイトを受賞した。

2009年8月29日、UFCナンバー大会初出場となったUFC 102でエド・ハーマンと対戦。2R開始直後にテイクダウンしたところでハーマンが左膝を負傷し続行不能となりTKO 勝ちとなった。

UFCは火曜日にカナダで記者会見を行うと発表しました。この記者会見はいろいろな憶測を呼んでおり、トロントのロジャーズセンターで行われます。
The Ultimate Fighting Championship is set to make a “major announcement in Canada” on Tuesday and speculation is running rampant as to what will be shared at this news conference, which will be held at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

UFCのダナホワイトが司会となりUFCのCEOで大株主のロレンゾフェッティータの参加します。

全ての人が望んでいる事が発表されると思われています。UFCはオンタリオ州の条例を変更させる事に成功し、UFCが認可されUFCが近い将来大会を開催するという発表だと思われています。
Many people are holding their breath with the thought the news is likely what everyone has been waiting for — that the UFC was successful in changing regulations in Ontario, and that the sport has been sanctioned, and that a UFC event will likely be taking place in the very near future.

TUF12のコーチがカナダ人のGSPで相手がコシュチェックなので撮影がカナダで行われると言う発表だと言う人もいます。もしMMAが本当に認可されたのであれば２人はロジャースセンターで今年の後半に闘う事になるでしょう。

Sources are telling me that former president of WWE Canada Carl DeMarco has approached the UFC about heading an office in Canada.

There are also whispers running rampant about former executive president of WWE Global Media Shane McMahon wanting a UFC office in Toronto, with him also suggesting the organization open an East Coast office in New York City. It was reported late last year that “Shane-O-Mac” was looking to become a minority owner in the UFC, and it is rumoured he has now approached the organization in hopes of buying a 5-10 per cent stake.

DREAMは昨日ライトヘビー級トーナメントの中止を決めましたが、まだ今年の末あたりにライトヘビー級王者を決めようと計画しています。
Despite the fact that DREAM canceled its upcoming eight-man light heavyweight tournament Thursday, the organization is still planning on crowning a light heavyweight champion later this year.

団体内の情報筋によるとDREAMは7月に4人のトーナメントを行い、年末にタイトルを賭けた決勝を行おうと考えているとの事です。今のところ７月19日にDREAM15は行われる予定です。
Sources within the organization tell MMA Fighting that DREAM will hold a four-man elimination tournament in July, with the winners facing off for the title later in the year. Right now, DREAM’s July event, DREAM.15, is scheduled for the 19th of the month.

情報筋によると、ゲガールムサシが参加する事は確かで、ババルも参加してほしいと考えているとの事です。
According to the sources, Gegard Mousasi will “for sure” be a part of it, and they are hoping Renato “Babalu” Sobral, as well.

なぜライトヘビー級のトーナメントが延期するかというとDREAMがライトヘビー級のトップレベルの選手8人を揃える事が出来なかったからです。
The reason given as to why the light heavyweight tournament was postponed was due to the fact that DREAM couldn’t find eight top-level competitors to commit to it.

トップレベル8人揃えられないって言うのもお粗末な事だな。

ジェイクシールズとSTRIKEFORCEの契約が一度切れ、ダナホワイトはGSPとジェイクシールズとの試合を夏に計画しているようです。GSPの次の試合の相手はジョシュコシュチェックとポールディリーの勝者になる模様です。もしこの試合でGSPが敗れるような事があってもジェイクシールズと戦う模様です。
Once Jake Shields’ contract ends with Strikeforce, Dana White plans to have Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields sometime this summer. This will be GSP’s second bout of 2010 with his third bout going down with the winner of Josh Koscheck/Paul Daley, regardless of whether St. Pierre loses to Shields.

驚くべき事にFEGはDREAM14でケージを使う事でライバル視しているアメリカンMMAに対抗しようとしているわけではないようです。DREAM14ではPRIDEルールの元、サッカーキックあり、踏みつけ有りなどの暴力的なルールを採用するようです。
The surprise that FEG has for Dream 14 that will ‘rival American MMA’ is not the aspect of a cage. They already tried that at Dream 12 and it received mixed reviews. The real shocker is that Dream 14 will be under Pride rules which means soccer kicks, head stomps and all that other (dangerous) good stuff.

EliteXCがオーナーが変わってから初めて今年の年末に開催されるとのことです。
ProElite Inc. (EliteXC, Cage Rage) plans to hold their first event after the buy-out by the end of this year.

ジャカレイとメイヘムの再戦がDREAM15で実現する予定です。
A rematch between Jacare vs. Mayhem will be held at Dream 15.

キングモーの最初の防衛戦の相手はスタニスラブネドコフになる模様です。ネドコフは戦極とまだ2試合の契約が残っていますがSTRIKEFORCEが緩やかな協力関係にある戦極から買い取るとのこと。
King Mo vs. Stanislav Nedkov is in the works to be Mo’s first title defense. Nedkov still has two fights left on his Sengoku contract so Strikeforce is either looking to buy out his contract or do a minor ‘co-promotion’ with Sengoku.

「俺は今でもレスリングが大好きさ」モーは語りました。WWEに興味があるかと尋ねたところ
「トムプリチャードとジェリーブリスコがWWEのトライアウトのオファーを出してきたんだ。」
“I’m still a big wrestling fan,” Lawal said, when asked if he had interest in WWE. “(Executives) Tom Pritchard and Jerry Brisco—they hit me up. WWE offered me a tryout.”

しかしながら契約には至りませんでした。
However, the two sides never reached a deal.

「契約したかったけど、でもプロレスとMMAどちらもやりたかったんだ。」モーは語りました。
「MMAをしながらプロレスもしたかったんだ。」
“I was going to do it, but I wanted to wrestle and do MMA,” Lawal said. “I’d love to do it when I’m done fighting.”

最近ヘビー級の期待の星ボビーラシュレイが同様にSTRIKEFORCEとTNAで活躍しています。彼は最近TNAでの活動を縮小しています。しかし彼はプロレスに戻る可能性も残しています。
In the past year, current heavyweight prospect Bobby Lashley has simultaneously worked in both Strikeforce and TNA professional wrestling. While he has scaled back his schedule with TNA, Lashley has not ruled out possibly going back to wrestling.

モーはラシュレイと同じやり方をする気はありません。

Lawal is not interested in following Lashley’s path.
“MMA is a lifestyle,” Lawal said. “If I’m going to do MMA, I’m going to go in headfirst. I can’t distract myself by going back and forth. I think it would hinder my performance.”

6勝無敗と言う成績を見ると彼のパフォーマンスはプロレスをやったとしても決して支障を来すものではないと思われます。初めての試合でUFCやPRIDEのベテラン、トラヴィスビューに勝ちました。
Looking at his 6-0 record, Lawal’s performances are anything but hindered. In his first ever professional fight, Lawal defeated former UFC and Pride FC veteran Travis Wiuff.

「誰も自分が勝つとは思っていなかったよ」彼はデビュー戦を語りました。
「みんな自分がKOされると思っていた。俺は1ヶ月だけ練習し、1週間前に試合をすると決めたんだ。」
“No one had me winning,” Lawal said in regards to his debut against Wiuff. “People thought I’d get knocked out. I’d only been training for a month, and I took the fight on one week’s notice.”

Lawal made a huge statement in that first fight. He needed only a little more than two minutes to get the knockout. At the time, Wiuff had a record of 54-12. Due to Wiuff’s experience, the fight would likely not even be sanctioned in the United States.

Following the victory, Lawal rolled off five more wins. Among the victims were MMA veterans Fabio Silva and Mike Whitehead.

Now, Lawal gets ready for his seventh and most impressive opponent. He is set to take on Strikeforce light heavyweight Gegard Mousasi. The bout will take place on Saturday, April 17 live on CBS.

ムサシは15連続勝利を修めておりライトヘビー級ではランキング3、4位だと思われている選手です。モーは今までこのランクの選手とは試合をしたことがありません。
Even though Mousasi has reeled off 15 straight victories and is widely considered one of the top three or four light heavyweights in the sport, Lawal is not giving his opponent too much credit.

「どんな相手と戦った？」モーはムサシの最近の試合で印象的なものはないかと尋ねられて答えました。

Lawal had more to say about Mousasi’s opposition.
“He surprised Babalu. He surprised Denis Kang. He submitted Melvin Manhoef, and if you’re going to beat Manhoef, that’s the way. He upkicked Jacare. The fight with Sokoudjou went back and forth.”

もしモーにムサシと戦うことに不安があったら、彼の試合への準備に影響をきたすはずです。
「トレーニング方法を変える必要は無いよ」モーは言いました。
「これは戦いなんだ。スタンドでもいいし、グラウンドでもいいよ。準備は出来た。いつでもOKだよ。」
If Lawal is trying to hide his uneasiness about facing Mousasi, he certainly is not letting it affect his preparation.
“I haven’t changed any of my training,” Lawal said. “It’s just a fight. I’m willing to stand, or I’m willing to go to the ground. I’m ready man. I’m ready. I’ve been ready.”

モーがムサシを降したら彼はライトヘビー級ランカーの一人になれます。自分が勝つ事はムサシが最も予期していないことだとモーは思っています。
Should Lawal defeat the favored Mousasi, he will instantly become one of the top light heavyweights in the sport. He believes a win is the most unexpected thing Mousasi should prepare for.

「驚かせる？もちろん勝つよ。」モーは試合を予想して言いました。
「みんな俺の事を見下していてムサシが勝つと思っているよ」
“Surprise? Yes—a victory,” Lawal said when giving a prediction on the fight. “I think people are counting me out and saying Mousasi is the next big thing.

「勝つために試合をするんだ。ムサシは自分を下だと思っているよ、あまり試合をしていないからね。でも最後は自分が手を挙げているよ。」
“I’m going to win the fight. I know Mousasi is underestimating me because I don’t have that many fights. I will get my hand raised.”

相当意訳になってしまいました。モーも相当の自信家ですね。でもこれで楽しみになりました。
