■JZ、DREAMが支払うまでDREAMで闘わないと語る。mmaweeklyより。
「菊野との試合でまだファイトマネーを支払ってもらってない。DREAMが苦しんでいようが、彼らがどう考えていようが関係ない。でも彼らはまだ支払ってくれてないんだ。」とJZは語りました。
“My last fight with Kikuno, I haven’t been paid yet. (Dream is) struggling. I don’t know what they’re thinking, but they didn’t pay me yet,” Cavalcante told MMAWeekly.com content partner TapouT Radio.「とやかく言わないけど、彼らが払ってくれるまで一緒に試合はしない。何か言おうとしたり説明しようとしたりするまでね。なんせ彼らはマネージャーに返答さえしてくれないから。マネージャーは電話をするけど返答をくれないんだ。」
JZは言いました。
「彼らは説明さえしてくれなかった。彼らに対してリスペクトさえ感じてないよ。彼らが払ってくれるまで試合をしたくないね。」
“I’m not saying I’m done with them, but I’m not going to fight until they pay me and try to come out with something and try to explain because they don’t even answer my manager. My manager called them and they don’t even answer,” added Cavalcante. “They did not come out with an explanation. I feel disrespected from them. I’m not looking to fight for them for a while.”「DREAMはいいイベントだから悲しいよ。日本の試合はクールなんだ。日本の歴史や侍の心、全てに対して尊敬の念を抱くよ。DREAMはいいイベントだよ。日本にはファンがいてくれてるから闘いたいよ。」
「本当は戦い続けたいんだ。でも不幸な事にうまくいってないんだ。」
“It’s sad because Dream is a nice event. The event in Japan, it’s cool. It’s an honor with the history, the samurai spirit and everything. It’s a good show also. I would like to fight for both especially because I have my crowd over there,” stated Cavalcante. “I would like to keep fighting back and forth, but unfortunately it’s not going good.”「日本では1ヶ月以内に通常支払ってくれるんだ。試合後、彼らは1ヶ月で払ってくれる。それが契約なんだ。」K-1グランプリを２回制したタイトルホルダーはそう説明しました。
“In Japan, they usually pay within one month. After the show they have one month to pay. That’s in the contract,” explained the two-time K-1 Grand Prix titleholder.「STRIKEFORCEでは、試合が終わったあとすぐに払ってくれる。なぜならボクシングコミッションが試合後すぐに渡すべき金額が全て支払われたか尋ねてくれるからね。だからもうギャラは手元にあるんだ。本当に素晴らしいことだよ。試合をしたら、取り分はもらいたいはずだよ。」JZは言いました。
“In Strikeforce, they pay you right after the event because the boxing commissions, they ask you for the checks and everything to be paid to the commission that they pass to the fighters right after the fight. So I already have my check from the fight (with Josh Thomson last week), which is really good. You fought, you want to have your money,” said Cavalcante.

「去年ダンヘンダーソンの負けたよ。間違いを犯したからね。後から考えると、そんなこと今まで無かった事だよ。その出来事があったから自分が犯した間違いを知るために猛練習をしたんだよ。でもダンヘンダーソン戦以上に、酷かったのはヴァンダレイシウバ戦だよ、ミドル級の試合でどうして負けたのか分からないよ。ダンヘンダーソンの打ちのめされたのは納得しているよ。でもヴァンダレイシウバ戦は勝ってたと思うんだ。ミドル級でダンヘンダーソン以外に打ちのめされた事はないよ。だからヴァンダレイシウバ戦での敗戦にリベンジしたいんだ。あの試合ではオレは彼を打ち負かしていたと思うよ。だからもう一度彼と闘いたい。知っての通り、ヴァンダレイはリマッチを希望していたよね。もし彼がリマッチをしたいと言うのなら、それはオレが彼を打ち負かしたと言う考えが心の奥底にあるからなんだ。あの試合で傷一つなかったけど、彼の顔はズタズタだったからね。」
“I mean, I had a [loss] to Dan Henderson last year, you know, I made some mistakes. And, in hindsight, that was the best thing to ever happen to me. It made me go away and work hard on (finding) mistakes I was making. But other than the Dan Henderson fight, other than the bullshit decision to Wanderlei Silva, I don’t think I’ve lost any of the fights at middleweight. I got beat by Dan Henderson, and that’s it. You know, I feel I won the fight against Wanderlei, and other than Dan Henderson, I’ve never been beat at middleweight … I’d love to avenge the loss to Wanderlei. I feel I beat him on that night, and I’d love to fight him again … You know, I mean, Wanderlei asked for the rematch. I think if he wants a rematch, that’s because he knows deep down inside his soul that I beat him. I didn’t have a mark on me that night, and his face was quite totally messed up.”
