【朝刊MMA】ランペイジジャクソンはMMAが本当は嫌い

「正直に言うと、もう以前ほどMMAに対して愛情を感じていないんだ」ランペイジは言いました。
「最近の選手の多くはMMAファンから選手になった人が多い。オレがMMAを始めたときオレはファンじゃなかった。というよりも生まれてからずっとファイターだったから。金を稼げるように神様が与えてくれたご加護だとずっと思っていたよ。子供の頃からずっと戦ってきて戦う事に疲れてしまった。もう戦うことを望んでいないんだ。でも戦う事が得意だよ。戦うということが自分の血に流れているんだ。生まれながらにしてファイターっていう人たちもいるんだよ。」
“I don’t know how much I ever loved the fight game, to be honest,” Jackson said. “Most fighters these days join fighting because they became a fan of it. When I started I wasn’t a fan of it — I’ve been a fighter my whole life. I just thought it was a blessing that God could give me something I could make money doing. When I was a kid I got tired of fighting. I didn’t want to be a fighter anymore. But I was just good at it. It was just something that was in my blood. Some people are fighters.”ジャクソンはAチームの撮影のため、エバンスとの戦いを6ヶ月延期してきました。ジャクソンはUFCが彼の演技への情熱を邪魔したことでUFCへの忠誠心を失わせたと言いました。
Jackson, who delayed his fight with Evans by six months so he could film The A-Team, said that the UFC’s refusal to embrace his acting aspirations took away some of his enjoyment of being involved in the company.「オレは以前程UFCが好きではない」ジャクソンは言いました。
「これはシークレットではないんだ。オレがUFCと揉めていた事はみんな知っている。そして不幸な事にUFCはオレがこの映画に出る事を邪魔しようとしたんだ。」
“I like it a lot less than I used to,” Jackson said. “It’s no secret, everybody knows about the falling out I had with the UFC, and it’s just unfortunate that they’re trying to blame me for doing this movie.”「UFCが言う事とやる事に対してオレは理解できない。これはオレのビジネスのやり方じゃないんだ。」ジャクソンは言いました。
「オレは忠誠心のある人間でオレを手厚く扱ってくれる人に対して同等の扱いをする。でもそうでない人に対してはそれなりの対応しかしないんだ。だからUFCに対してはそれなりの対応しかしない。彼らはオレに何が良いのか聞いてきもしない。本当に無いんだ。オレは契約を終わりにしたいんだ、そしてここから出て行きたい。そして自分自身のことがしたんだ。ダナはオレに嘘を言った。彼はラシャドエバンスと戦う必要は無いといったんだ。マチダと戦うことが出来ると。だから試合に出る事にしたんだがそしたらダナはオレはラシャドと戦わなきゃならないと言いやがった。」
“They’ve said some things and done some things I don’t agree with — that’s not the way I do business,” Jackson said. “I’m a loyal person so I take care of people who take care of me, but people who don’t take care of me, I don’t take care of them. So I’m done with the UFC. They can’t ask me for anymore favors. Nothing. I just want to finish my contract and get out of there, do my own thing. Dana lied to me. He told me I didn’t have to fight Rashad, I could fight Machida. I did the show and then after that he told me I had to fight Rashad.”
とのこと。日本人の感覚だとランペイジジャクソンって面倒なヤツだなと思いますが、ここまで自分に正直に生きる事が出来たら大変な事もあるけどうらやましいなとも思えます。

■ダンヘンがインタビューでSTRIKEFORCEデビュー戦はジェークシールズ戦と明言。mmajunkieより。
UFCからやってきたダンヘンダーソンは次戦の相手は誰なのかたくさんのヒントを出してきましたが今日彼のSTRIKEFORCEでのデビュー戦の相手はミドル級のチャンピオンだろうと発言しました。この戦いはまだ公式に発表されたものではありません。
After many hints at a possible return to competition in the middleweight division, recent UFC import Dan Henderson (25-7) today said his first Strikeforce bout will be against 185-pound champion Jake Shields (24-4-1) in an as-yet-unannounced card scheduled for broadcast on CBS.PRIDEで２階級王者だったダンヘンは今日MMA.LIVEという番組でアナウンスしました。
The former two-title Pride champion made the announcement today on ESPN.com’s “MMA Live” after accepting the program’s “Knockout of the Year” honors for flattening Michael Bisping at UFC 100 this past July.「185ポンドでシールズと闘うと思うよ」ダンヘンは録画撮りのショーでそう答えました。ダンヘンはいつその戦いが行われるかは答えませんでした。

ブロックレスナーのコーチのネルソンがMMAliveで司会のジョンアニックにブロックレスナーの健康状態を話しました。ネルソンはいつレスナーが復帰するかまだ予定をたてることはできないと答え、しかし事を急ぐ事はないが彼が復帰するときは100%の状態で復帰するだろうと答えました。
Nelson was a guest today on ESPN’s MMA Live and spoke with host Jon Anik about the champ’s condition. Nelson could not give a specific timetable on when Lesnar might return, but said they would not rush things, and when he did return he would be at 100 percent.UFCのダナホワイトとレスナーは来週記者会見を予定していてどのような内容にするかを話し合っています。
UFC President Dana White and Lesnar are supposed to hold a press conference next week to discuss in detail the champ’s situation.

「次の質問を俺にしてみてくれ。あなたが望む選手で契約出来ないと思う選手はいますかと。ヒョードル？彼は我々が契約出来ない選手の一人だ。でもその他の誰でも我々UFCが望めば契約することができる。もし本当にダンヘンが必要なら彼とサインしたんだけどな。」
“Let me ask you a question. Do you think that there’s any guy we can’t get that I want? Other than Fedor [Emelianenko]? So far, he’s been the one guy we can’t get. For the money he wanted, he’s not worth it. He’s not a big pay-per-view star, he’s not a big attraction, and he’s not going to sell out arenas. He wants way too much and he doesn’t bring anything to the table…I could care less. Here’s the reality: If I wanted him, he’d be in the UFC. It’s not like, ‘F***, Strikeforce beat me out.’ He’s been a free agent for a long time. If I wanted him, I would have signed him by now.”
ないないづくしのダンヘンですが決して魅力のある選手では無いと思います。日本だとPRIDEでの活躍が印象に残っていますがダンヘンだけだと客は呼べなかったような。
