「もしちゃんと歩けるようになったらドクターは12月に試合をしていいって言ってくれたよ」ショーグンは膝の怪我について語りました。
「でもちゃんとした形で復帰するなら１月か2月に試合をするほうがいいね。時間をかけたいね。UFCはビッグパートナーさ。彼らは急がせようとしないよ、彼らは私の良いようにさせてくれるんだ。」
“If everything walks well my doctor said that I could start fighting in December,” “Shogun” said of his knee recovery. “But to get a more comfortable return I prefer to fight in January or February. I wish to give time to time. The UFC is a big partner, they don’t hurry me up, they let me feel comfortable to decide.”

A former PRIDE FC champion, Rua spent time in his early days training with middleweight dynamo Anderson Silva in the famed Chute Boxe camp in Brazil. Many fans are calling for a match up between the two exciting fighters and, while he expressed more interest in fighting Randy Couture or rematching Forrest Griffin, Rua did reveal that he is open to a fight with “The Spider.”

“There’s absolutely going to be a sequel. Part two is tentatively scheduled for New Year’s weekend,” Sonnen revealed. “It may take place Super Bowl weekend. Either way it’ll be in Vegas. It’s gonna be a big deal.”

「前回の試合ではアンデウソンシウバ神話って言うのを打ち崩してやったよ。今回は彼を倒すよ。今回の試合で違うのは最後にベルトを巻いてオクタゴンをあとにするってことさ。最後の一分で離れていったベルトを奪い取るよ。」
ソネンは言いました。
「もしシウバに勝ったら、もう一度彼とやってやっつけたいね。自分の人生は変えられないさ。試合の前もオレは世界最高の選手だけど試合後もオレは世界最高の選手さ。」
“Last time I defeated the myth, this time I’m gonna defeat the man. The only thing different is I’m leaving there with the belt. That’s it. We were one minute away from pulling it off,” Sonnen pointed out. “If I [had] beat him I’d have to come back and beat him again anyways. Nothing in my career has changed. I was the best fighter before that fight and I’m the best fighter after it.”

「試合をコントロールすることが出来たよ。」ソネンは言いました。
「もしアンデウソンシウバ戦の試合を見る事が出来るなら分かると思うけど試合の最初の頃は簡単に彼の右を取る事が出来たんだ。彼は他の人よりも少し探りを入れてくる時間が長くて2ラウンド目にラッシュをかけてくるんだ。だから我々はそれに向けて準備をしていたんだ。」
“We were able to control the action,” Sonnen said. “One thing you’ll notice if you watch Anderson’s fights is it’s pretty easy to get the jump on him right at the beginning of the fight. He takes a little bit longer of a feeling out process than most guys and he comes out very hard for the second round. We were prepared for that.”

試合をコントロールしシウバにプレッシャーをかけ続ける事でほぼ全ラウンドにわたってソネンは試合を支配しました。そしてそれは試合の最後の瞬間まで完璧でした。ソネンは試合を通してずっとシウバの目の前に居続けようと思ったと言いました。特に2ラウンド目はシウバが全力で向かってくるのが分かっていたので気をつけました。
Controlling the action and keeping the pressure on Silva was basically Sonnen’s game plan for the entire fight and it was one implemented to perfection until the late moments of the bout. Sonnen explained that he was looking to stay in Silva’s face throughout the fight, and especially in the second round when Silva is known to really pour it on.

“Going into round two, again, we knew he likes to come out hard in round two,” said Sonnen. “The feeling out process is done. He doesn’t lead with the jab, he leads with power knockout shots — big flying knees. We were prepared for that. I wanted to meet him across the ring — meet him in his corner and keep the pressure on him. Not only beat him physically, but try to take jhim out of the game mentally.”

Sonnen wore Silva down by maintaining constant pressure with his hard-nosed style of grappling but the most important thing for Sonnen was to stay busy on top to avoid a stand up, something that he did by firing off relentless ground and pound throughout the fight. Regardless of his success, though, Sonnen revealed that every time Silva landed a shot it landed with force.

“It’s important to stay busy,” he said. “If you ever get on top in a fight, you want to maintain that position. I really thought that the only chance Anderson is going to have is to land one of the fancy and athletic moves he’s known for from his feet. I didn’t see there being any problems from the ground position…Anderson never touched me once in the fight that didn’t hurt.”

ソネンは試合中シウバを打ちのめして、さらに頭の中では祝福されている風景を描いていたと告白しました。彼はMMAライブの解説者にシウバは４ラウンド目まで寝技でのサブミッションが出来ていなかったから5ラウンド目も安全だと思っていたと話しました。ソネンはこれは彼にとっては最悪の出来事でシウバがどうしたら勝てるか模索していたから勝てたのだと考えています。
The brash Oregonian made mention of the fact that he knew he had Silva beat and that, in the fight, he had already begun celebrating in his head. He told the MMA Live analysts that since Silva hadn’t been able to land any submissions for the first four rounds that he did not expect him to secure any in the fifth either. Sonnen thinks that this is what led to his eventual downfall and credits Silva for finding a way to win.

“Basics are what win championships, not fancy moves,” said Sonnen. “Two of the basics of submissions are you don’t let your opponent control your wrist and you don’t put your hand on the mat. I let him control my wrist. I underestimated him. I figured he had 23 minutes and he couldn’t do anything to me, it’s certainly not going to change now. That’s a big mistake. I let him have my wrist . If I got my wrist back, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.”

マイケルビスピングがtwitterでソネンの事をこう言いました。
「秋山をやっつけてソネンも打ちのめすよ。彼はオレに対して何も出来ないよ。セールスマン、闘え！オレをやっつけることなんて出来ないぞ」そのメッセージは良く朝消されましたがソネンはそれを聞いてこう言いました。
「もしビスピングがそんなことをまた言ったら、彼を葬ってやるよ。」
Fellow UFC middleweight Michael Bisping took to Twitter following Sonnen’s breakthrough performance against Silva and issued this message: “I’m gonna beat akiyama then beat sonnen, he can’t do that to me. come on you salesman!!!! you can’t hold me down f-g!” And although the message was pulled down the next morning, Sonnen got wind of it and had this to say in response: “If Michael Bisping ever addresses me in public again, I will bury him where he stands.”

ソネンはシウバの相手に相応しいのは自分だと思っているがシウバが自分と闘うのは望んでないし、シウバは肋骨の怪我で2011年の初めまでその事は保留になるだろうと言いました。もしビスピングが10月のUFC120で秋山に勝ったらファンはソネンとビスピングの試合を見たい事でしょう。その試合が実現したら今まで見た事の無い試合前の罵り合いが展開されることでしょう。
Sonnen also mentioned that he believes he will be Silva’s next opponent but Silva won’t be his, as Silva is likely to be on the shelf until early 2011 with a rib injury. If Bisping gets past Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 120 this October MMA fans could be looking at a Sonnen-Bisping bout, which promises the most ridiculously hyped and trash talk-filled pre-fight build up possibly ever.

岡見戦に向けて、ムニョスはUFCミドル級王者のアンデウソンシウバと精力的に練習をしています。彼は以前に岡見と対戦した事があるのです。
「アンデウソンとは一緒に練習をしているよ。ここのところずっとだね。彼がブラジルからやってくれば時々練習をしていたけどUFC117の試合があるから彼はここにキャンプを張っていて自分に取っては助かっているよ。この事には本当にエキサイトしているんだよ。彼は彼が持っている技術をたくさん見せてくれるんだ。オレも彼に見せるよ。このやり取りはとてもクールな事だよ。」と彼はインタビューで答えました。
To help him prepare for Okami, Munoz trained extensively with the UFC middleweight champion himself, Anderson ‘Spider’ Silva, who has fought Okami in the past. “Me and Anderson, we get along really well. I’ve been training with him for a while now. I train with him on and off when he comes in from Brazil, but he’s had his camp here for this fight (Silva will headline UFC 117 vs. Chael Sonnen on August 14) for me to help him out. I’m pretty excited. He showed me a lot of stuff, I showed him a lot, it’s a two-way relationship so it’s pretty cool,” Munoz told me when I interviewed him recently (video of the interview attached below).

When I asked what his strategy was coming in against Okami, Munoz replied succinctly, “I’m going to take him down and pound him out”. Silva agrees. After training with Munoz and having experience against Okami, Silva was confident about Munoz’s chances against his Japanese opponent. Munoz said in a separate interview, “Anderson actually told me that after sparring with me, and after fighting Okami, Yushin has nothing for me. He knows what Okami has, so we’ve been working really hard to understand how he moves and how to counter back. He’s got a lot of great stuff that he’s showing me.”
