UFCミドル級チャンピオンのアンデウソンシウバは10月に肘の手術をしてまだ療養中です。ダナホワイトはシウバが良くなれば4月の大会に出場するだろうと言いました。
UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva is still recovering from elbow surgery that removed bone chips from his right elbow in October. Dana White says that things are looking better for Silva and that he should be back in time for an April event.

どうしてSTRIKEFORCEと契約したのですか？
このことは6月からずっとほっといた事なんだ。本当はどうにかしたかったんだけど、契約のことで問題を抱えていてホント憂鬱になっていたんだ。でも結局スコットコーカーがマネージャーと俺と契約している会社と折り合いをつけてくれて自分にとってよい契約にしてくれたんだ。ほんとSTRIKEFORCEには感謝しているよ。彼らはいい会社だし、ヒョードルもいるし他にもヘビー級でいい選手がいる。だからSTRIKEFORCEで自分をテストしてみたいんだ。いまはとてもいい気分だよ。
Michael David Smith: What made you decide to sign with Strikeforce?
Bobby Lashley: The main thing is I’ve been put on the shelf for a long time, since June, and I want to stay really active. I had some problems with contracts for a while and that was getting pretty frustrating, but at the end of the day [Strikeforce CEO] Scott Coker got with my manager and got with the company that owned my contract, and Scott along with Bob Cook worked things out and set me up with a good contract. I like Strikeforce. They’re a good organization, Fedor is there and so are some other good heavyweights, so I can go out there and test myself. I felt like now was the time to go for it.誰と闘うことになりますか？
多分ボブサップと闘うだろうね。なんて冗談だけど誰と闘うかまだわからないんだ。みんなはヘビー級のトップ10と闘ってほしいというのは知っているけど、いい試合が出来る人と試合をする必要があるんだ。自分をテストしてみたいからさ。でも最初っからヒョードルやオーフレムとは闘いたくないよ。
If it were up to you who would it be?
Maybe we’ll do a Bob Sapp number two (laughs). No, to tell you the truth I don’t know. I know everybody wants me to fight a Top 10 guy but I need to get in there against somebody I’m a good match-up with. I want to be tested, but I don’t see myself fighting Fedor or [Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair] Overeem first.
名前があるわりにはどさ回りみたいな試合しかしていなかったのは契約の問題だったようですね。これからSTRIKEFORCEで頑張ってもらいたいものですね。
【朝刊MMA】UFCブロックレスナー来年７月復帰か/ダナ、ランペイジの復帰を約束

「ブロックレスナーが病気になったのを知った時トレーニングをする気がなくなったんだ、だって彼ともう一度闘うってことが自分への活力だったからさ。
2、3日落ち込んで練習にも行けなかった、そして病気になってしまったんだ。彼ともう一度闘う事が出来ないと思ってと頭がおかしくなってしまったんだ。生きて行くのが嫌になったよ。」
“When [Brock Lesnar] got sick it screwed up my training because he was such a driving force for me. I went into a depression for two to three days where I didn’t go to the gym, I got sick — I drove myself insane thinking we may possibly not fight again. I couldn’t live with that.”
■そんな思いを寄せられているレスナーですが現在の体調は？mmafrenzyより。
UFCヘビー級チャンピオンブロックレスナーは11月に複数の病気になったが、彼のトレーナーのグレッグネルソンによれば病状は良くなっていると言う事ですが、まだ練習を再開するには至っていません。
UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, sidelined since November with a combination of illnesses, is “feeling much better”, his head trainer, Greg Nelson, recently informed MMAWeekly, though he has yet to resume major training.先週UFCのダナは彼の今後はまだ分からないと語りましたが、UFCは来年7月の復帰で動き出しているようです。彼の対戦相手は対戦が延期になったシェーンカーウィンになりそうです。そしてその試合はボストンで行われます。
Despite UFC President Dana White saying just last week that they were still unsure about his future, the promotion is reportedly targeting a July return for Lesnar, according to Heavy.com, and his anticipated matchup with Shane Carwin, previously scheduled for November and January, could headline the UFC’s Boston debut.

ランペイジのサイトでも語られていましたが、UFC108で行われるラシャドエバンスとチアゴシウバの勝者と闘う模様で今後2、3ヶ月のうちに実現するだろうとホワイトは語っています。
【朝刊MMA】パウロフィリオは心の病気でDREAMを欠場した
■今さらな感じですがパウロフィリオがDREAMをドタキャンした真相が載っていました。bloodyelbowより。
パウロフィリオは10月にDREAMで闘う予定だったがドタキャンした。公式では日本へのビザがとれなかったとなっているが本当の理由は彼の鬱病なのだ
“Paulão should have fought the Dream again in late October, but missed the event at the last minute. Officially claimed had failed to Japanese visa, but later revealed that the true cause of his absence was the depression.”フィリオの鬱は睡眠薬の取りすぎから始まったと彼らは明言した。この問題は多くの選手に起きていて、カロパリジャンがUFC106を欠場したのも同様のケースだ。
They also confirmed that Filho’s depression was caused by an addiction to sleeping pills. A problem that is plauging a lot more fighters these days and we are familiar with due to the Karo Parisyan pulling out at UFC 106.
WECの時と同じなようなことになってしまったようです。睡眠薬だけじゃない気もしますが…。
