【朝刊MMA】アフリクション、バーネット問題でMMA関係者が語る/UFC105でヴァンダレイとビスピング
■ジョシュバーネットが出場停止になった問題でいろいろな人がいろいろと言っています。
■まずはヒョードルの対戦相手と噂されるヴィトベイフォードと対戦する予定だったジョルジュサンチアゴの関係者。mmamaniaより。
ジョルジュサンチアゴの関係者は語りました。
「ジョシュの事は知っているよ、テストで陽性反応だったことだよね。でもやる事は一緒だよ。サンチアゴはベイフォードと闘うんだ。彼は凄く良くなっているし、ATTでも一番の選手のうちの一人だよ。彼は完璧なファイターで今何をすべきなのかわかっていると思うよ。」
“I know exactly what you know, that Josh (Barnett) tested positive, but the situation is the same: Jorge (Santiago) will fight Vitor Belfort. He has growth a lot, he’s one of the best fighters we have at American Top Team. He’s a complete fighter and I think it describes who he is and how he is now.”
なんか面白みの無い答えでした…
■続いてジェフモンソンの関係者が語りました。
「ジェフはこれは運命づけられたものだと思っているよ」関係者のエバンスは語りました。
「彼はずっとヒョードルとの戦いを望んでいたんだ。その機会がやってきてジェフは喜んでいるよ。もしアフリクションの関係者がMMAの歴史を作りたかったら彼らがジェフを対戦相手に選んでくれるよ。」
“Jeff is destined for this fight,” said Evans. “This is the fight he has always wanted. Opportunity is knocking and Jeff just open the door and said lets dance. Now it up to Tom and the Affliction guys to make their minds up to see if they want to make history.”
まあモンソンはありえないけど、試合間隔が短くても気にしないのでありえるかもですね。なんせあと10日切ってるし。
■ヒョードルとの試合を望んでいるドンフライも語っています。
「カリフォルニア州はアスレチックコミッションのせいでとんでもない損をしたよ。アスレチックコミッションはアマチュア集団だよ。ヒョードルとの対戦で100万ドルのお金をもたらすはずだったジョシュを出場停止にしたんだぜ。カリフォルニア州には50億円の借金があるっていうのに100万ドルをふいにしてしまった。なんて馬鹿げた事なんだよ。」
“Look at what the hell is going on in California with their athletic commission. What a bunch of amateurs. You know, I mean, they’re suspending Josh Barnett for taking a drug, you know, and he can be making the state a million dollars by fighting. But they’re going to suspend his ass when they’re five billion dollars in debt. Where’s the sense in that? You know, that’s insane. That’s how goofy we’ve gotten.
ちょっと論点がずれていますがそんな考え方もありですかね？？
■まだ決まっていませんがほぼ決まりだろうと思われている対戦相手ベイフォードについてランディクゥートアが語っています。sherdogより。
「ベイフォードは左利きでヒョードルは左利き対策をしてないはずだよ。そして彼は機敏で爆発的だし、優れたボクサーでもあるんだ。」
「ベイフォードはヒョードルよりも小さいけど才能があるから勝つ可能性はあるよ。彼はバーネットのように勝つチャンスはあると思うよ。」
“The fact that he’s a southpaw and Fedor hasn’t prepared for a southpaw, the fact that he is very, very agile and explosive and a great boxer all lend well to him having a great performance,” Couture said. “It’s really a win-win for Vitor to fight one of the top guys in the sport, being a smaller guy stepping up on such short notice… He’s got just as good a chance as anybody. Certainly he has as good a chance as Barnett had at fighting Fedor.”
簡単に訳してしまいましたが要はこんな発言です。
確かにいいのが当たれば勝つような気もしますがヒョードルに限ってラッキーパンチでは決まらないような気もします。

■fanhouseによるとジョシュのドラッグテスト陽性を受けてアフリクションのアテンシオが語っています。
ジョシュバーネットはドラッグテストでの陽性反応で8月1日にアフリクションへの出場停止が決まった事に関して上訴しました。
Josh Barnett is appealing the positive drug test that has denied him a license to fight Fedor Emelianenko in the main event of Affliction “Trilogy” on Aug. 1 in Anaheim, Calif.「テストの結果を明らかにするためジョシュがあらゆる手段をとっている事は理解しているよ。そして結果が陽性って明らかになったとしたらわれわれはひどくがっかりするだろうね」トムアテンシオは語りました。
“It’s our understanding that Josh has taken further measures to validate the results of test, and if the results stand then we’re deeply disappointed,” Affliction VP Tom Atencio said today.３週間前のテストで2つのサンプルが取られ、一つが陽性反応をしました。ジョシュのマネージャーはカリフォルニアのコミッションは今二つ目のテストをしているところだとアテンシオに語りました。
Two samples were taken from a pre-fight test three weeks ago and the one tested resulted in a positive. Barnett’s manager has told Atencio that the California commission is currently in the process of testing the second sample.「もし彼が潔白だと証明出来たら本当に嬉しいよ。そうでないとしたらヒョードルの新しい相手を捜さないといけないし、ファンを落胆させないようにしないといけないし、とにかく私はやるべきことやるだけだ。」
“If he’s cleared, then great, obviously, if not, then once again I’m getting the best opponent, making sure the fans are happy and doing everything I can to [get past this bump in the road].”バーネットのテストで陽性反応が出たのは禁止物質が入っていたからだがそれがなんなんだかわからないとアテンシオは言った。
Atencio said Barnett tested positive for a banned substance but has “no clue” exactly what the drug was.試合まで10日をきって、バーネットの結果を待っていることはできないし、とにかく次の相手を捜さなきゃならないとアテンシオは語りました。
With ten days until the event, there’s no time to wait for Barnett and Atencio says he has no choice but to find the next best worthy opponent.「とにかくやるしかないんだ」アテンシオは語りました。「とにかくやるしかない…」
“We’re definitely moving ahead,” Atencio said. “I have to move ahead.”アテンシオは3人の対戦相手候補と交渉していると言いました。でもまだ契約したと言うコメントは出ていません。でもバーネットが出ると言う選択肢はすでに消去しました。
Atencio says he’s in negotiations with three possible opponents but wouldn’t comment on any matchup changes until the contracts are finalized. However, Atencio did not entirely erase the possibility of Barnett returning.「もしジョシュが潔白ならば、ライセンスがジョシュに戻ってくる可能性もあると思うよ。でもそれはすべてカリフォルニア州のアスレチックコミッションにかかっているからね」
“It’s my understanding that there’s a great possibility that they’ll reinstate his license and let him move forward, if he’s cleared,” Atencio said. “But that is absolutely in the hands of the California State Athletic Commission.”
確かに10日切っていますからね、アテンシオさん大変です。

でそのテストをしたカリフォルニア州のアスレチックコミッションの見解とされるコメント。MMAWEEKLYより
CSACは公式見解を発表しました。
「6月25日のテストでアナボリックステロイドの反応がでました。CSACはその結果を7月21日に知り、すぐにバーネットのライセンスと停止しました。そしてアフリクションにも試合が出来ない旨をつたえました。」
The CSAC then issued a public statement saying, “Barnett’s June 25 drug test came back positive for 2a-methyl-5a-androstan-3a-ol-17-one, an anabolic steroid. CSAC learned of the results July 21 and immediately denied a license for Barnett. CSAC also informed the promoter of Barnett’s Aug.1 bout against Fedor Emelianenko that the bout would not be approved.”
とのこと。
ヒョードルの対戦相手として今のところ３人の候補が上がっていますが、ヴィトベイフォードが有力みたいです。ちなみにティトオーティスは準備期間がないので出来ないと否定しています。

Greg Wilson of Newport BJJ Academy just called to give me the terrible news柔術黒帯でUFCなどに出場したキモが昨晩、コスタリカの病院で心臓発作のため亡くなった。
BJJ Black Belt and UFC, Pride, K-1, Shoot Box, and WFA veteran Kimo Leopaldo died from complications from a heart attack earlier tonight at St Fancis Hospital in Costa Rica彼は41歳でグレッグと仲が良かった。
He was 41 years old and a good friend and instructor to Greg.
とのことでいろいろなサイトでも報じられたのですがKevin Ioleがtwitterでキモについて語り始めました。
キモの広報担当と話したよ。彼はコスタリカに昨晩はいなかったよ。彼は11時の段階ではオレンジカウンティーにいたよ。今日の彼の事に付いてだれも知らないけど。
Just spoke to Kimo’s publicist. He was NOT in Costa Rica last night. Was in Orange County and alive at 11. No one has heard from him today

「僕が望めばUFCで闘う可能性もあると思うよ。でも自分のキャリアの後半でそれは良いと思うんだ。」
“My manager told me that he had spoke to Joe Silva, the matchmaker of the UFC,” Mousasi said. “I think that it’s a possibility for me to fight (in the UFC) if I want to fight. But the UFC I think would be better for me at a later stage of my career.今は他にする事がたくさんあるし、UFCは独占的だしね(もしくは「UFCは凄いところだからね」と言う訳の方がいいのかもしれません)
“Now I want to do a lot of other stuff, and the UFC is exclusive.”「ランペイジやマチダみたいなUFCのスターと闘ってみたいよ」
「彼らはUFCで既にスーパースターだね。この階級は山のようにたくさんの選手がいるからみんな凄く強いね。」
「ライトヘビーで闘う事は難しいことだけど、彼らと闘う事は自分に取って大きなチャンスになるよね」
“The UFC light heavyweights with Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida – those are the fights that I would like to fight,” Mousasi said. “They are already big superstars in the UFC. But that division is stacked, so anyone would be good. You don’t have easy fights at light-heavyweight. For me, they all look like a big challenge.「いつか彼らと闘う日が来るだろうけど、今は他のやるべき事に集中しているよ」
“Some day I want to fight them, but right now I’m concentrated on other stuff.”
とのこと。
やっぱり人間だからより大きなところを目指しますよね、普通。次の試合がやはり大切ですね。スーパーハルクももちろん大切でしょう…
